1、問候聽眾，介紹自己。

開頭問候聽眾是演講的基本禮儀。人的好奇心都特別強，如果臺上站著一個不認識的人作演講，聽眾們一定都想知道演講者的身份背景信息。所以在英語演講的開頭，大大方方將自己介紹給聽眾，讓大家認識自己，無論如何，這總比演講結束了，臺下的觀眾還不知道臺上那個家伙是誰要強!

3、告知演講主題。

英語演講的開頭要告知聽眾演講的主題，讓聽眾在心里有一個大致的了解和準備，這樣他們在聽演講的過程中注意力會更加集中，更容易產生思維的交流。
4. 告訴聽眾發言長度。
I won't take up more than ten minutes of your time.
I don't intend to speak for longer than ten minutes.
I know that time is short, so I intend to keep this brief.
當聽眾在席位上安定的坐下來后，必然也會想知道演講會持續多久，以便安排下面的行程。為了緩解聽眾的焦慮，可以在說完演講主題后，友好的告知其演講持續的時間，相當于給聽眾吃了顆定心丸。

演講的技巧之一就是在英語演講的開頭引入一些能引起聽眾興趣的內容。在開頭設置懸念，讓聽眾在你的英語演講中找尋答案，變被動接受為主動汲取，總是能夠大大增加演講的效果。
